The Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (CCAHM) recently held its Spring Conference on April 24-25, 2025, at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, marking its first in-person gathering since 2019 before COVID-19 struck.

The two-day meeting brought together representatives from member schools, Executive Committee members, and guests from partner organizations for an educational workshop, strategic planning sessions, and collaborative discussions aimed at addressing current needs in acupuncture and herbal medicine education.

Thursday’s conference agenda included a Workshop titled Introducing and Creating/Implementing Entrustable Professional Activities for Acupuncture Colleges, presented by David Lee and Beth Howlett and Jennifer Brett, updates from the American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA) delivered by ASA Chair, Olivia Hsu-Friedman, and a strategic planning session led by Executive Director, Kristin Richeimer.

The Open Session of the General Business Meeting featured updates and reports from President Thomas Kouo, Committee reports and a National Office update from Kristin Richeimer. In addition, national leaders from partner organizations presented updates including AIHM/ACIH, ACAHM, SAR, and the NCCAOM. The CCAHM Members continued their discussions in the Closed Session of the GBM to discuss additional committee reports, current needs and challenges of member schools and next steps for strategic planning and future initiatives to support AHM education. Members can access all materials from the Conference on the CCAHM Connect member collaboration portal.

CCAHM would like to thank all attendees, particularly our member schools, Executive Committee members, and representatives from partner organizations for their presentations, engagement, and collaboration throughout the conference.

We look forward to carrying this momentum and progress forward on behalf of the Council as we continue to strengthen opportunities for collaboration and work to advance acupuncture and herbal medicine education.
