Minimum Technology Requirements

The Clean Needle Technique (CNT) course is completed entirely online.


Please review these requirements carefully before registering. You must meet them to access the course videos and successfully complete both the written and practical exams.


Candidates who cannot complete their exams due to technical issues may be required to reschedule and pay an additional fee.

Hardware Requirements

Devices

  • Online Course Modules: Can be accessed on a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smartphone.
  • Written Exam: Requires two devices, each with a functioning camera and microphone (for example, a laptop and smartphone).
    • Primary device: Mac, desktop PC, or laptop with webcam.
    • Secondary device: Smartphone or tablet for a second camera.
  • Not Supported: Smartphones, tablets, and Chromebooks cannot be used as your primary exam device.
  • Unsupported Systems: Windows 10 S-mode tablets are not supported.
  • Bluetooth Devices: Not recommended due to possible connection issues.

Audio and Video

  • Built-in or USB plug-in speakers, microphone, and HD webcam are required for all course components.

Operating Systems

  • iOS, Android, or Blackberry mobile devices may be used as secondary cameras.
  • Microsoft Surface PRO 2 or higher (Windows 8.1 or later) is supported.

System and Software Requirements 

Video Course Modules

  • Course videos are accessed directly through your CCAHM Portal (no additional accounts or software required).

Live-Proctored Written Exam

  • Browser: Google Chrome (preferred) for connecting with your proctor.

Zoom Practical Exam

Internet and Bandwidth

  • Connection: Broadband wired or wireless (minimum 3G or 4G/LTE); wired preferred.
  • Minimum Speed:
    • 600 Kbps (standard video)
    • 1.2 Mbps (720p HD)
    • 1.8 Mbps (1080p HD)
  • Check your internet speed

Important Notes

  • You must use two devices for the written exam. Candidates who do not have both will n ot be permitted to test.
  • All required software links and installation steps will be provided in your CCAHM portal after registration approval. 
  • Ensure your devices meet all requirements before registering to avoid delays or rescheduling fees.
