In Memoriam: CCAHM Remembers Dr. Bong Dal Kim, OMD, L.Ac., Founder of Emperor’s College and Pioneer in Acupuncture Education

The Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (CCAHM) honors the life and legacy of Dr. Bong Dal Kim, founder of Emperor’s College and a pioneer in establishing the field of acupuncture and East Asian medicine in the United States. Dr. Kim’s leadership, vision, and lifelong dedication to teaching and healing helped shape the profession and inspired generations of students and practitioners. His contributions remain an enduring part of the history and advancement of acupuncture and herbal medicine education.

The CCAHM Members, Executive Committee, and staff extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Kim's family, colleagues, students, and community of Dr. Kim. He passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025.

We join the Emperor’s College community and the broader field of acupuncture and herbal medicine in honoring Dr. Kim’s extraordinary legacy and contributions to our profession.
